For the last few years Doug Vandover has discussed the Advent season, including the wreath and candles, in our Sunday School class, including this last week. This year I decided I really liked the idea - Connor is at the age that he is really getting into Santa and all the other "holiday" items, and it is hard to keep Christmas Christ-centered with as little emphasis as is put on it these days. I even find myself most years busy and barely recognizing that Christmas is approaching, much less focusing on why we celebrate it.

So we bought the wreath and candles and for the past two nights have had a time when we dim the lights, light a candle, and talk about Jesus. What an awesome time!
