Alpha and Omega
Have you ever looked at the stars and wondered how far the universe goes? The very thought that it might just keep going on and on and on is hard for us to understand. In our finite minds we understand only that things have a beginning and an end, even when we didn’t see it. However, Jesus is eternal. He didn’t begin; he won’t end. We might accept that fact even though we don’t understand it. But the fact that we will never end is hard for us to grasp. Death seems like an end, however, it is only the end of our time on earth. Then eternity begins.
The God that we serve is the one true God. The Everlasting, Prince of Peace. He had no beginning and He will never end. John writes in Revelation 1:17, 18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead; but he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last, the Living One who died, who is now alive forevermore, who has the keys of hell and death.”
We must learn rest in the confidence that Jesus Christ died for our sins, is now alive and that we are in fact forgiven. He Existed before the beginning of Time. Though his earthly life came to and End, he then was Resurrected and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. Because of His death and resurrection it has given us a chance for New life. All those who choose him will one day live with him. We must learn to Let go of our sins, be truly sorry for doing wrong, and ask Jesus to forgive us.
Remember that Jesus is ETERNAL. Allow yourself to let go of your sins and let him forgive you. Then, even though you might not understand how, you will live with him eternally.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22:13
